Week 6

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone. This week I learn about Introduction to Educational Media. I gain so many nowledge from this topic.
• It is recognized that conventional media can no longer meet the needs of our teaching and learning processes; as a result they are being replaced by multimedia technology.
• Technology is simply defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as “a body of knowledge which when used or applied helps in solving problems”.
• Educational technology means “application of a body of knowledge 
(technology) to solving educational problems”.
• This technology provides a learning environment that is self-paced, learner-controlled and individualized.

Function

1. Abstract terms are best illustrated through the use of instructional 
media.
2. Magnifying or reducing objects for classroom use.
3. Unavailable experiences are provided via media.
4. Provides a common framework of experience to a large number of 
learners.
5. Individualization of learning becomes a reality.
6. The attention of learners is maximised
7. Knowledge retention is increased.
